Q & A
Here are 100 goofy little questions available for anyone to answer, courtesy of Neocities user burypink! I tweaked the wording and grammar for the sake of consistency, but the original questionnaire is available at the link above. I Will take my time with this one though, as it's a pretty long list.
- Time and date you started this?
April 8th, 2025 at 9:25AM - A/S/L?
33 / nunya / occupied Lenape land, i.e. the Eastern US - Opinions on musicals?
Musicals can be pretty fun and memorable! I've seen a number of them over the years, both as a kid and as an adult. I still listen to the soundtracks sometimes whenever I'm in the mood for dramatics in my music. - Favorite snack?
Cookies are definitely a vice of mine, same goes for chocolate. Japanese chocolate-covered biscuits like Kinoko no Yama and Bourbon Alfort combine these in the worst way...I always end up buying either one or the other when I'm food-shopping. :P - Have you ever been in love?
More than a few times, and it's often blown up in my face. I get too attached to the idea of being with a certain person and am inevitably disappointed. So I just figure if it happens, it happens. I'd like to persue a relationship seriously at some point, ideally with a fellow aegosexual or other type of asexual person. It doesn't seem fair for me to be in a relationship with someone who isn't also ace, but those are my personal feelings about it. - Favorite Pokemon?
Vaporeon!! My favorite since I was eight years old. I love its canine-like mermaid design and ability to melt into water. The Eeveelutions in general are a lot of fun. I also love Meowth, but specifically Team Rocket's Meowth as voiced by Maddie Blaustein. Really enjoyed the trio a ton growing up (who's surprised lol), but I adored him the most. Blaustein really put her whole heart and soul into voicing Meowth; I wish she was still with us. :'( - Mario Kart main?
Never played any Mario Kart lol, but I alwayed mained Princess Peach whenever I played Mario Party games. - Team Fortress 2 main?
Never played that one either! - Do you laugh at YouTube poops?
I do, and especially did back when they were still popular! I didn't watch a ton of them tbh, but the Wilford Brimley diabeetus YT poop is my favorite and it still makes me laugh nearly twenty years later. Plus, the AoStH Robotnik PINGAS ones are still classic. - Are you listening to music right now?
Nope! Just the sound of my mini-fridge humming on my office desk. - Favorite shape?
Probably a circle or an oval. Very malleable, with no sharp angles or edges. - Do you believe in astrology?
Yes and no; I do think there might be something to time and space relating to people's personalities, but I doubt it's necessarily how we humans have conceptualized it via various zodiacs across cultures. Still, I do find it fun to read up on different signs' traits and how Western and Chinese zodiacs create horoscopes out of them. I figure they're harmless fun and don't put too much stock into them. - Do you believe in the occult?
Kiiiiind of, but more in the "playing around with forces you don't fully understand can be dangerous" sort of way. If it's in a fictional story or horror film though, then I don't care too much, though Hereditary left REALLY rancid vibes in my apartment at the time. I wish I did a holy water blessing or something after watching it; great horror movie, but it totally got to my superstitious, God-fearing ass lmao. - Opinions on Vocaloid?
I hardly listen to Vocaloid, but love Kenshi "Hachi" Yonezu's tracks, namely his eventual "Donut Hole" cover of the original Gumi song that he produced. He's one of my favorite J-rock singers now!
I also enjoyed WhiteFlame's "Senbonzakura" with Hatsune Miku, though I find its overt, possibly nationalistic themes/aesthetic pretty uncomfortable. I get that it's themed after the Meiji Restoration period and that there's a lot of debate in the fandom over whether it was meant to convey a right-wing message, but...yeah. Not hard to see why that song's left out of Korean releases. :x - Would you ever want to be a rockstar?
When I was 11-12 years old, I had on-and-off fantasies about being a pop or rock star, which is so funny because I can barely sing. - Do you get stressed easily?
I'm a hypersensory-leaning autistic with a hodge-podge of mental health issues, so the answer is yes! :'D - What was your favorite class in high school?
Definitely English class; I've always loved reading, writing and literary analysis. - What Pokemon type would you be? Dual types are allowed lol
I guess Psychic/Fairy? Those are my second and third-favorite types besides Ghost, and they probably suit me and my personality better. I'm nowhere near goth enough to claim that type. - Rei or Asuka?
ASUKA! She's been my favorite since I first watched NGE in undergrad. I love Rei too, as she's special in her own way and reminds me more of myself. But Asuka's character really stuck with me for some reason. - Favorite HTML tag?
I love the marquee tag, it's so fun to make things scroll at any speed and in any direction! But it's basically obselete and doesn't always work properly thanks to browser updates. Will need to figure out a modern equivalent to it. :/ - Are you religious?
Yes, though I'm not very good at it. I was raised Roman Catholic, but left that tradition, became Episcopalian and have been active in an LGBTQ+ affirming church for the past several years. I struggle to temper my worst impulses and personal flaws at times. Still, I do earnestly try to practice and live out my faith, which is all I can do as a fallible human being. - Opinions on nightcore?
I don't listen to it, so none I could give you lol. - Did you go through any major phase (goth, emo, weeaboo, etc.)?
I went through a weeaboo phase as a teenager, i.e. being extremely addicted to anime/manga and regularly buying basic Japanese junk food like Pocky and Ramune at Suncoast (R.I.P.) and FYE. I used to decorate my room with anime screenshots and wall scrolls. I never got ridiculously racist about it, as a lot of white teens back then often did, i.e. thinking that I could "become" Japanese by partaking in geeky, otaku-core hobbies. At most I added (often incorrect, Google-translated) Japanese on my drawings, but that would lead me to studying the language seriously for a few years.
I'm a lot more chill about it now, still trying to retain what JLPT N4 proficiency I learned and even buying Japanese groceries for myself to make dishes. Still nuts about anime/manga obviously. So I basically started as an obsessive teen weeb dork, then matured into a regular Japanophile dork. - Are you good at drawing?
I can draw well to decently, but am very out-of-practice, all things considered. I get art block easily due to autistic burnout, and while I've improved somewhat over the years, my art could be a lot better if I practiced regularly, esp. if I actually drew other things besides the usual OCs and fanart.
I draw mostly for fun though, so perhaps making it into a whole discipline for myself defeats the point lol? I want to refine my style though, so I will get around to it (EVENTUALLY) (HOPEFULLY). - Do you crack your joints?
Noooooope, that sound coming from my own body gives me the ick. - Do you read visual novels?
I don't, but I have been recommended the When They Cry series more than once, so it's on my list. - Can you sew?
A little bit, I can stitch holes and sew patches, but that's all. I'm too lazy to do even that half the time, so I usually ask someone else, e.g. my mother or a tailor at the local dry-cleaner's. - Can you cook?
Yes, fairly well! I set aside time on the weekends to make large batches to freeze and take out during the week. I tend to cook either basic meals (taco meat, spaghetti sauce) or my favorite Japanese dishes ( curry rice, gyuudon). I'm guessing packaged/during the week doesn't count, but that's all the energy I have after work. :'\ - Most expensive thing you've bought?
An actual, full-sized curio cabinet back when I still lived with my parents! Bought it using a particularly fat tax refund that I got one year. I use it for displaying anime figures. - Opinions on cosplay?
Cosplay is pretty neat! I don't have the time, money, or skill to invest in doing it myself. But I've seen some really impressive cosplays, be they the costumes themselves or photoshoots. - Most hated band/musician?
I don't hate anyone's music too strongly, though there's plenty of good music made by musicians who are/were terrible fucking people (e.g. John Lennon, R. Kelly, Marilyn Manson, Ye West, etc). Ed Morrissey kind of sucks in a snivelling, insufferable way, though I still kind of like The Smiths in spite of him. - Are you a dramatic person?
I definitely have dramatic tendencies lmao. Since I'm autistic I either underreact or really overreact, all from poor emotional regulation. I also cry super easily, whether I'm overwhelmed by joy, anger, sadness, or stress doesn't seem to matter. My emotions can get annoyingly strong sometimes. - What emoticon do you use the most?
Oh man, I don't keep track in terms of regular typed emoticons. Emojis, on the other hand? I use these a lot: 😅 😑 😭 🙃 💀 - Can a miracle certainly occur?
I believe so! Miracles can and have happened, whether by human or divine intervention. - Would you let a vampire suck your blood?
I'm too squeamish and pain-avoidant, so probably not! - Do you have a celebrity crush?
Bruce Campbell and Sigourney Weaver! Bi horror fan heartthrobs... - Do you like snow?
When I'm cozy, indoors and looking out my window at beautiful, pristine snow that's just fallen? Yes. When I have to shovel or walk in it outdoors, while it's all freezing, wet, and muddy? Absolutely not. - Were you really into Greek mythology as a kid?
Sort of; astronomy and the Solar System were childhood special interests of mine, which meant that I did have a vague interest/curiosity about Roman mythology. It heavily overlaps with Greek mythology, even though the two are still distinct. - What are some things you could competently deliver a speech on?
Most things related to my special interests, though I'm more comfortable doing so if it's a topic or subtopic that I've thoroughly researched. If it's in an academic or professional setting though, I'm far more nervous and intimidated by people's perceptions of me. - Are you good at spelling?
My spelling is mostly good, though I'm more likely to make mistakes if I'm not checking periodically, am too tired, or having bad brainfog. - Which Touhou wud u fuk?
D'ohhhhh, I wish I knew more about Touhou just to answer this question! Maybe Meiling or Patchouli. They're both very cute, though I'm more likely to want Touhou girls to do each other in the realms of my own fantasies, rather than me doing any of them (I'm just aegosexual, not fictosexual). - Do you think there's going to be a robot takeover??
Probably at some point, but not this soon. For as much well-founded panic there is about the plagiarism slop machines marketed as "[generative] AI" or learning language models (LLMs) in general, or that's all more related to the excesses of our late capitalist hellscape than the tech gaining autonomy or sentience.
Don't get me wrong, LLMs have practical and even life-saving uses! But not in the hands of greedy corporations banking off a manufactured fad while robbing creatives and tech workers of their labor. - HAS SCIENCE GONE TOO FAR??!?!??!?!
In more than one way, yes. Science should be in service to the planet and the needs of its inhabitants and environment, and it continually fulfills those goals! However, life under a capitalist system is inherently inhumane and antithetical to all of that. Thus, science is often abused as a means to the selfish and destructive ends of the few. - Would you be an angel or devil?
Most likely an angel. I relate far more to Aziraphale than I do to Crowley. - Sine, cosine, or tangent?
I majored in English in undergrad. My people don't do math! Sorry, lol! - Do you like licorice?
HELL yeah, I love it! One of my favorite candies growing up was Good & Plenty, which are candy-coated black licorice pieces. I like Twizzlers a lot, too, namely the cherry-flavored peeling kind. Black licorice, red licorice...it's all delicious! - What's one thing you can't stand that everyone else loves?
Oh that's an easy one: coffee. No matter how much sugar, cream, or syrup I dump into it, all coffee and coffee-flavored things taste like bitter sludge to me. Will never understand what the fuss is about, aside from maybe a collective case of caffeine addiction (and I'm a tea drinker, so I can't point fingers there). - What books did you like as a kid?
I was a voracious reader as a child, I loved everything from encyclopedias and dictionaries to chapter books and comics. There would be far too many books I loved to list here!
In terms of series, my big-time favorites were R.L. Stine's Goosebumps, Brian Jacques' Redwall and Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants. I enjoyed the Harry Potter series too, albeit only the first three books. I never got past the first ~200 pages of the fourth; it was poorly edited and I didn't give a single solitary shit about the new characters. Plus considering that I'm trans, it was for the best that I didn't get attached. - Can you play any instruments?
I took piano lessons as tween and haven't practiced regularly in nearly 20 years. Despite that, I can still read sheet music and play decently. I'm a perfectionist and so was my teacher at the time, so we butted heads regularly. I am thankful that I can just sit down and revisit the songs he assigned me back then. - What song would you want to play at your wedding?
Never honestly thought about it! Will need to get back to you on that one. - Do you believe in reincarnation?
Not really, though I'm willing to be wrong about that. There are a handful of weirdly convincing examples of it happening. So while I don't think reincarnation is widespread or happens regularly to every soul, I could see it occuring once in a great while. Plenty of stuff happens that are far beyond human understanding, so I remain fairly open to that possibility. - Finish the sentence: I'm just a guy who ______
...needs a nap. Maybe two. - Have you been to another continent?
I have! I've been to Asia when I was in Japan with my father 12 years ago, and I've been to Italy, Spain, and the French Riviera with my family while in high school, so Europe also counts. - What's your worst habit?
Dermatillomania, a.k.a. skin-picking. :| I'm very embarrassed by it. But it's a problem I've always had (because autism) and I'm trying to get better control over it so I'm not constantly hiding my fingers and the soles of my feet. I apply Vaseline and skincare serums to treat the redness. - Favorite vegetable?
I'm an ARFID autist, so it's been a life-long, uphill battle to make myself eat more vegetables. I try to add a lot of them to soups since I tolerate the tastes and textures much easier that way. That said, I do enjoy eating cooked cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots in certain dishes. I also love fukujinzuke, which is a type of Japanese pickled relish that tastes GREAT with curry rice. - What's something stupid that scared the shit outta you as a kid?
Probably that one Stephen Gammell illustration of the spider girl from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. One of the books was on a Halloween display when I was in second grade, and I screamed upon opening it lmao.
It's nowhere near as scary to me now as it was when I was eight-year-old, but like most of Gammell's illustrations, it's still super off-putting and uncomfortable to look at. His artwork really stayed with me and a lot of other 90s kids. - What's one of your guilty pleasures?
Edgy, vulgar adult cartoons. Granted, many of them have been a net-negative on American culture (South Park especially), but the dumbass 2000s era teenager in me still finds some of them funny and charming in their own stupid ways. - Would you rather be a ghost or a vampire?
I'm not horny enough IRL to be a vampire, so ghost it is! Wouldn't mind hanging out in a place and scaring living people, seems like it'd be fun, provided I have creative control over the place I'm haunting. Maybe a poltergeist if anyone moves my shit lol. - What do you fear most?
Being unable to live life the way I want. I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional, sometimes abusive household that was inhospitable to my queerness and neurodivergence. I dread the thought of ever going back to living in a situation like that again.
I also don't want to be isolated from other people, especially not after the worst of COVID. I like my solitude and freedom, but still want to remain connected to others, even if I suck at that. - Do you sleep with any plushies?
I haven't actually slept with plushes in many years. But I do have some I still keep on my bed during the day, especially my old giraffe plush, which I've treasured since I was a baby. - What hobby do you just not understand?
Thrill-seeking hobbies like cave-diving, sky-diving, or drag-racing. I'm far from an adrenaline junkie, I can't fathom wanting to constantly put myself in danger. - Do you like the taste of alcohol?
Nah. I drink alcohol sometimes, but it has to be very fruity-flavored or a mixed "girly" type drink. Otherwise, it's too bitter for me, like drinking bug spray. - Are you a hopeless romantic?
Absolutely! A good, genuine romance gives me warm fuzzies. Fluff is probably my favorite thing to write, especially in fanfiction. I know that true love is a real thing that exists, even if it isn't for everyone. - Which deadly sin best fits you?
It's a toss-up between Wrath and Gluttony, maybe a bit of Lust. I'm generally calm and not someone who's quick to lose my temper. Still, there's a lot about the world that makes me stew in my juices, and I regularly have to beat back mean or hateful thoughts, even if the people I feel them for deserve them. Deep inside me is the same scary, reactive anger that my mother has, and I hate feeling it well up even a little bit. It's a part of generational trauma that I'm deeply vigilant about.
As for Gluttony, I only occasionally overeat because I feel like shit afterwards, but I do love food and need to make sure I don't buy too much or indulge my unhealthier cravings too often. Lust is tricky since I have it more in the horny aego "I can't stop thinking about my ships and OCs going to pound-town together" way and not in the "actually wanting to fuck" way that allosexuals typically have. - Which of your physical features do you like the most?
Probably my nose. It's a like nigh-perfect, rounded triangle that gets pink and has a bunch of freckles on and around it. I swear look like a real-life, stereotypical Tumblr drawing lmao, but I wouldn't have it any other way. - Are your ears pierced??
Yes! I almost didn't because the Claire's gun scared me when I was little, but I felt jealous when my younger sister got her's pierced. I mainly wear cute and/or goofy statement earrings, and coordinate my outfits based on them. It's fun! - Have you ever been in a physical fight?
Never. The closest I got was some random boy jumping on me and punching my back repeatedly in a Discovery Zone when I was five. That made me cry so hard and terrified me so much that I remember Mom not taking me back for a long time. - Where do you buy your clothes?
A lot of different places, sometimes small businesses like Joanie, Sleepy Peach or Kina and Tam that design their own, or from chains like Kohl's and The Loft. I wish I could shop more ethnically, more often, though that's not always within my price range. - Where would you live if you could live anywhere?
I'd love to live in a quiet, modest-sized and walkable town borough, preferably in a modest living space—e.g. a condo or a small house—with minimal driving or the longest distance you need to drive is 5-10 minutes away. - Do believe in magic? or is it all a trick?
Ehhhh, not necessarily, though I do think actual magic is something most people ought to be really, really careful about messing with (see question #13). That wariness towards dabbling in the supernatural is probably the Mexican in me. - Have you read Umineko: When They Cry? You should!
No, but I'd like to read it someday (see question #26)! - What is the worst chore to do?
Cleaning the bathroom, I think. Dishes and laundry are just mildly annoying (plus I REALLY hate touching wet food). But the strong, pungent chemical smells and having to scrub all manner of bodily filth and bacteria really skeeves me out. Sucks that it absolutely has to get done as often as it does. - What did your parents almost name you?
I was almost named Alison or Alice, after that one Elvis Costello song. Thank God my mother had second thoughts, especially considering what that song's about. >_> - What would you want your name to be if you were not your current gender?
I haven't the faintest clue lmao. Never stopped to think too deeply about that, but might be nice to have a more masculine name in my back pocket for gender reasons. - What were your first words?
According to Mom, it was "nut." My parents used to have a toy poodle (one of many) named Peanut, who'd have zoomies in and out of my room. I'd call "NUT!" to him from my crib and he'd dash over while I giggled hysterically. - What do you want your last words to be?
"Don't let them put me in a dress." - When did you first regularly start going online?
I started using the internet when I was about six years old, mainly to play on the Kids' Only page of America Online or Nick.com. But I didn't become a regular internet user until I was 12 or 13 years old, and even ten it was to look for images I liked visually stimming with. - What year do you miss the most?
Oddly enough, 2002? Most of my grade school years were pretty crappy for one reason or another, but I remember just drawing, obsessing over Sailor Moon and Sonic, and listening to a bunch of CDs. Thankfully school was fairly uneventful, at least from what little I recall. - Are you psychic?
Nooooooo, I can't even read regular people's social cues and body language that well, let alone anything on an extrasensory level. - Would you fuck a clone of yourself? You're not allowed to kill yourself.
Nope; I don't think even a clone of me would want to fuck. - What do you use to listen to music?
Just my iPhone and noise-cancelling headphones. If the white noise gets to me too much, I just use the device speaker so I don't hurt my ears. - What's the biggest city you've been to?
Most likely Tokyo. That city is MASSIVE, like three different cities in a trenchcoat! No wonder you need an entire, elaborate subway system to travel through the whole thing. - Favorite animal?
A toss up between giraffes and dogs. I've loved giraffes since I was little; they're so strange-looking and unique. Dogs just make my heart melt. I love getting to pet and fuss over doggies when given an opportunity. - What web browser do you use?
I used to be a regular, years-long Chrome user, but only use it for work now. I've been using Firefox for personal stuff just because it feels far less evasive. - Are you allergic to kitty cats??????
I don't think that I am! My family never owned cats because my mother doesn't really like them, but they always seemed fine and cute to me. - Do you like energy drinks?
Ehhhhh, not really. Red Bull tastes nasty and I never had Monster. The closest I got to regularly drinking energy grinks were 5-Hour Energy shots I'd sip in undergrad. I drank a whole one once and the heart palpitations were horrible. Needless to say, I never drank one again after that. - Would you ever spend money on tf2 unusuals/CSGO skins/gacha pulls/etc.?
I've spent money on that Pokemon TCG pocket app, so guilty as charged. I try to avoid doing so now because it really isn't that much different from gambling. - When do you usually go to bed?
On a regular day, between 10:45pm and 11:30pm. I'll stay up longer if it's a weekend or if I'm not feeling too sleepy, but on especially tired days, I hit the hay as early as 9:00-30pm. - How often do you wash your hair?
Every other day, usually, provided that the pomade in my hair doesn't get too funky or itchy by the next day. I have super dry hair so I try not to wash it too much. - Would you download a car?
Damn right I would! Shit's too expensive. - What was your favorite show as a kid?
I had a bunch, but if I were to narrow it down, it would either bet The Big Comfy Couch or Rocko's Modern Life. A lot of 90s shows aged super poorly to me, but I still look back on those two fondly. - What's the silliest hat you own?
I used to own a sombrero that my parents bought me for my birthday dinner one year, which was at a Mexican restuarant. Had to toss it before I moved though. - What album/song [do you listen to when] you're feeling angsty?
I have a whole playlist for that, esp. when abuse-induced complex trauma has me feeling like shit. If I were to name one album, it would be Linkin Park's Meteora, the first album I bought with allowance money. Whole thing's a great jam when you're feeling pissed off and miserable. - Do you make OCs?
Yup! Been making them a long ass time, though my old ones were pretty embarrassing for the most part. I should really post about them more. Maybe I'll make a page for them at some point! - What's the goofiest thing you do when completely alone?
Verbal stimming for sure. It feels great, but it's mainly me squeaking my dog's name and repeating all the nonsense phrases I say or sing while doting on him. - Do you like fireworks?
Sure! They can be enjoyable, though I do feel terrible for any person or animal they could distress. - Favorite painter?
Either Vincent Van Gogh or Claude Monet. Both impressionists who had an impressive command over colors, patterns, and making their mundane surroundings into pieces that are majestic and unforgettable. - Favorite numbers?
25 and 66, I think. Numbers ending in 5 or 6 just feel "right" to me, as they're in the middle - What genre of vidya gaems are you really good at (fps, fightan, danmaku, racing, whatever)?
Roleplaying/adventure games, mostly just Pokemon and Undertale. Platformers to a much lesser extent; they're fun but also really tricky and frustrating. - Time and date you finished this?
April 16th at 11:27PM! Took me long enough lol.
